Tech Tip #1: Stay Secure.

The first ever Tech Tip in the sites history involves security over the web. Being stuck with a suspended eBay account I can tell you that even some of us who are very careful can still get hit. Here are 3 things that you can do to keep yourself safe from intruders:

1. Keep a long and random password: Use numbers, letters, and symbols. Also keep it at the very least 8 or more characters. Do not use dictionary words as they can be hacked by programs.

2. Never answer an e-mail with personal info: No legit company asks for personal information that is sensitive over an e-mail. If you get an e-mail asking for info, close your browser and type in the sites main address in a new browser window to ensure that you're in the companies main site.

3. Get an Anti-Virus and Spyware Blocker: AVG offers a free anti-virus and Lavasoft offers Ad-Aware free to keep your system clean. Keep these programs updated and you will be much safer.
